Extra RAM @ no Extra cost ??? Learn all about Ready-boost

Learn all about Ready-boost

If you're using Windows 7 or Windows Vista, you can use ReadyBoost to speed up your system. A new concept in adding memory to a system, it allows you to use non-volatile flash memory—like a USB flash drive or a memory card—to improve performance without having to add additional memory.

Turn ReadyBoost on or off for a storage device

To turn ReadyBoost on or off

1.Plug a flash drive or flash memory card into your computer.
2.In the Autoplay dialog box, under General options, click Speed up my system.
3.In the Properties dialog box, click the ReadyBoost tab, and then do one of the following:

To turn ReadyBoost off, click Do not use this device.

To use the maximum available space on the flash drive or memory card for ReadyBoost, click Dedicate this device to ReadyBoost. Windows will leave any files already stored on the device, but it'll use the rest to boost your system speed.

To use less than the maximum available space on the device for ReadyBoost, click Use this device, and then move the slider to choose the amount of available space on the device you want to use.

Click OK.

Firefox turbo mode

Cool tip to make Firefox be even faster then it already is. The tips came from forevergeek.com originally.

Here's what to do:
1/ Type "about:config" in the address bar
2/ Set change "network.http.pipelining" to "true"
3/ Set "network.http.proxy.pipelining" to "true"
4/ Set "network.http.pipelining.maxrequests" to 30

If you are still on a modem, it won't help, but I tried it on my DSL connection, and I can feel the difference! Of course, you will try at your own risk
